The Church of Almighty God Draws Attention on the 1st Mondoreligioni Religious and Cultural Exchange
From December 7 to 9, 2017, the first Mondoreligioni - Incontriamo le Religioni del Mondo (Meet the World Religions), an activity of religious and cultural exchange, was held in Rome's Città dell'Altra Economia, jointly organized by the Associazione Italiana di Sociologia (Italian Sociology Association), the magazine Confronti, and EPOS. The event was focused on furthering cultural exchanges between various religions in Italy, increasing mutual understanding and respect, and promoting social stability and progress.
Catholic, Christian, Muslim, and other religious groups attended this event along with representatives from Italian academia, news outlets, and local students. Notably, The Church of Almighty God was also invited to participate in the event. Lively discussions were held regarding issues faced by immigrants to Europe. In these discussions, it was held that with increasing immigration to Europe and the diversification of belief systems, issues of faith should be stressed in order to promote stability and progress in Europe. Christians from The Church of Almighty God issued statements describing the persecution inflicted on them by the Chinese Communist government, as well as the tortuous course of applying for religious asylum after fleeing to Italy. Through mutual communication, the other participants gained a greater understanding of The Church of Almighty God and the truth of the Chinese government's disregard for international human rights conventions and brutal persecution of religious belief. They also expressed their concern for the asylum applications of members of The Church of Almighty God in Italy.
